Dental implant
A dental implant is a small screw made of biocompatible titanium or zirconium, which replaces the root of the tooth. It is inserted into the maxillary/mandibular bone. Once integrated, between 4-8 months, the doctor can attach a crown, bridges or dentures to this implant, depending on the situation. Implants also have the role of preventing bone resorption that normally occurs after tooth loss.
